Womanizer Premium 2 vs Classic 2: Which Should You Choose?

By Darren, founder of MAW Toys · 2 October 2026 · 7 min read

Premium 2 and Classic 2 share the same Pleasure Air technology. Here is what the extra money buys, with a side by side spec table and advice on who each one suits.

Products featured in the MAW guide: Womanizer Premium 2 vs Classic 2: Which Should You Choose?

Only got a minute? Both toys use Womanizer's Pleasure Air technology, both are waterproof to IPX7 and both carry a 5-year warranty. Premium 2 adds four more intensity levels (14 against 10), Autopilot 2.0, Smart Silence and an extra hour of run time. Classic 2 is lighter, simpler and costs less. If you want a straightforward first suction toy, choose Classic 2. If you want more control and features you will use, choose Premium 2. You can see both, and the rest of the range, in our Womanizer collection.

Womanizer makes two toys that people compare more than any others: Premium 2 and Classic 2. They look alike, they work in the same way, and on paper the differences can seem small. In practice they suit different people. This guide sets out what each one does, using Womanizer's own published specifications, so you can choose with confidence rather than guesswork.

What do Premium 2 and Classic 2 have in common?

Both are clitoral stimulators that use Womanizer's Pleasure Air technology. Instead of vibrating against the skin, the soft silicone head rests over the clitoris and creates a rhythm of gentle pressure waves and light suction. Many people describe it as quite different from a vibrator: less buzzy, more focused, and with no direct rubbing.

The two toys also share a lot of practical detail:

  • Waterproof to IPX7, so both can be used in the bath or shower and rinsed clean.
  • Body-safe silicone heads, made without phthalates, BPA or latex.
  • Rechargeable, with a 120-minute charge time for each.
  • Two heads in different sizes included in the box, so you can find a comfortable fit.
  • A 5-year warranty from Womanizer.

So whichever you choose, you are getting the same core sensation and the same build quality. The differences are about control, convenience and how much you want the toy to do for you.

What does the extra money buy with Premium 2?

More intensity levels

Premium 2 has 14 intensity levels against Classic 2's 10. More levels mean smaller steps between each one. If you like to build up gradually, or you find that one level is too gentle and the next is too much, those in-between settings can make a real difference. If you tend to pick a level and stay there, you may not notice.

Autopilot 2.0

Autopilot changes the intensity and rhythm for you, so you can stop pressing buttons and simply relax. Some people love handing over control. Others prefer to stay in charge of every change. It is worth asking yourself honestly which camp you are in, because Autopilot is one of the main reasons to choose Premium 2.

Smart Silence

With Smart Silence switched on, Premium 2 only starts when the head touches skin and pauses when you lift it away. It is a small thing that makes the toy quieter between moments and saves you fumbling for the button.

An extra hour per charge

Premium 2 runs for up to 240 minutes on a full charge, against 180 minutes for Classic 2. Both are long enough for most people to go several sessions between charges, so this matters most if you often forget to top up or you travel with it.

Who is each one for?

Choose Classic 2 if:

  • This is your first air-pulse or suction toy and you want to find out whether you like the sensation.
  • You prefer simple controls and a lighter toy in the hand.
  • You want Womanizer quality and warranty at a lower price.
  • You are buying a gift and are not sure how adventurous the person is.

Choose Premium 2 if:

  • You already know you like air-pulse toys and want finer control.
  • You would enjoy Autopilot taking you through changing sensations.
  • You like the convenience of Smart Silence and the longer run time.
  • You want Womanizer's most fully featured version of their original design.

Neither is "better" for everyone. A toy you use and enjoy is worth more than extra features you never switch on. If you are still unsure what air-pulse toys feel like, our clitoral suction toys page shows the wider range, including smaller travel models.

Which head size should I use?

Both toys come with two silicone heads in different sizes. The head needs to sit comfortably over the clitoris and form a light seal with the surrounding skin, without pressing hard. Start with the head that came fitted. If it feels as if the toy is not quite "catching", try the other size. The heads pull off and push on, and they are worth swapping regularly so you can wash them properly.

A small amount of water-based lube around the rim of the head helps it seal and makes contact more comfortable. Water-based lube is safe with every toy material, including silicone. You will find options in our water-based lube range.

How do I use an air-pulse toy for the first time?

  1. Charge it fully before the first session, so it does not stop partway through.
  2. Start on the lowest setting. Air-pulse sensations can feel stronger than you expect, especially with direct contact.
  3. Rest the head lightly over the clitoris rather than pressing it in. Too much pressure can break the seal and reduce the sensation.
  4. Move it slightly if it does not feel right. A few millimetres can change things a lot.
  5. Increase gradually. On Premium 2, you can try Autopilot once you know which levels you like.

Our guide to using a wand massager covers the same principle of starting low and building up, if you are also comparing wands.

How do I clean and charge them?

Both toys are waterproof, so cleaning is simple. Pull the head off after each use, wash it and the toy body in warm water with a mild, unperfumed soap or a toy cleaner, rinse well and let everything air dry before you put the head back on. Moisture trapped under the head is the main thing to avoid.

Charge them with the USB cable supplied, and make sure the charging points are dry first. Store the toy in its pouch, away from other toys, so the silicone does not pick up dust or react with other materials. Our guide to cleaning a silicone sex toy has more detail.

How is an air-pulse toy different from a vibrator?

A vibrator moves against the skin. An air-pulse toy like Premium 2 or Classic 2 sits just over the clitoris and works through gentle pressure waves, with very little direct contact. Many people find this focused and intense in a different way. Some prefer vibration and some prefer air pulses, and plenty enjoy both. If you already own a vibrator and love it, an air-pulse toy makes a good contrast rather than a replacement. If you have never used either, Classic 2 is an easy, lower-cost way to find out whether the sensation suits you. Our vibrators range has plenty of options if you decide you prefer vibration.

Whichever you choose, give yourself a few sessions to get used to it. Air-pulse sensations are new to many people, and finding the right head size, setting and angle can take a little practice.

Quick questions

Is Premium 2 louder or quieter than Classic 2?

Womanizer does not publish decibel figures for either model on its product pages. Premium 2's Smart Silence means it only runs when it is touching skin, which keeps things quieter between moments.

Can I use either toy in the bath?

Yes. Both are rated IPX7 waterproof by Womanizer. Water can wash lube away, so you may want a little more than usual.

Are they good for couples?

Both are small enough to use during partnered sex, either by you or by a partner. Neither connects to an app. If you want a couples toy that a partner can control remotely, look at our couples sex toys.

Do the heads fit other Womanizer toys?

Head fit varies by model, so only use the heads supplied for your toy unless Womanizer lists them as compatible.
